Chamkila fame Sahiba Bali reveals about Diljit Dosanjh's enigmatic real life persona; Says 'He’s flamboyant'
Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra are currently basking in the immersing success of their recently released OTT biopic drama, 'Amar Singh Chamkila'. Directed by Bollywood's acing director Imtiaz Ali, the film is surely riding high among the fanatics and we are all drooled with the duo's utter performance. Ever since it's premiere, audiences are heaping praises on the marvelous projection of the film whether it be Imtiaz's sheer finesse-worthy direction or the moving screen presence of the film leads.
Recently during an interview with a renown media forum, Diljit Dosanjh's co-actor Sahiba Bali who portrays an integral role in the film made some astonishing revelations about the leading star, Dosanjh. The Punjabi singer, who is often known for his good comic timing in the screen has outpoured his powerful caliber through films. Currently, Crew and Amar Singh Chamkila have brought a lot of fame and recognition for his impeccable performance and for all the right reasons.
Speaking about the star's real-life version, Sahiba was astonished on the fact of his enigmatic personality. She accepted being a huge fan of the singer and was very 'excited' to meet him on the set for the first time. Bali said, "I can’t tell you what a great experience it was because before being his co-actor, I was a huge fan. Since years, I’ve been a huge Diljit fan. On the day that we were shooting this, I was extremely excited about finally meeting him and talking to him." Just like any others, even her expectations were highly on the end of what she sees him on his social media. "He’s flamboyant, humorous, has so much energy. But I was on set, sitting next to a co-actor, looking around, waiting for Diljit to arrive with a bang. I didn’t realise that the co-actor sitting next to me for the past half an hour was actually Diljit. He was so quiet, he was so zen, he was in his zone. He was just sitting quietly, waiting for the shot. And then I realized he was Diljit, so I started talking to him. He was in a meditative state, so disciplined and focused. I couldn’t believe it was the same Diljit, the singer and the performer," she concluded
Speaking about the movie, Amar Singh Chamkila is a recently released musical biopic drama that premiered on Netflix on April 12, 2024. As the name suggests, the film revolves around the life of the legendary singer Chamkila and how he rose to become a global sensation before being gunned down at the age of 27 in 1988. Directed by Imtiaz Ali, the film also stars Apinderdeep Singh, Rahul Mittra, Nisha Bano, Anjum Batra, Vipin Katyal, and Udaybir Sandhumore in some significant roles.
