Delhi Government To Begin Drive To Check Vehicles Not Violating HSRP Rule

The Delhi Transport department to all set to start "limited" drive to check the order of maintaining High-Security Registration Number Plate and colour-coded stickers on vehicles. Nine teams have been assigned to catch the owners of vehicles having HSRP number plates.

According to the sources, the Delhi Transport Department has launched nine-team, which will be all around the city. The teams have been conducted to keep a check on vehicles violating the HSRP rule. A superior officer of the department said, "It will be a pre-enforcement drive in limited and selected areas of Delhi to check compliance of HSRP and colour-coded sticker rule by owners of four-wheelers only."

He further said that it is to impose people to get the stickers as soon as possible. They have taken this decision to make sure everyone is maintaining the rule. The drive will begin in the first week of January 2021, the date is yet to be announced.

The HSRPs and the colour coded sticker are compulsory according to the court's rules. Vehicles registered to precede April 1, 2019, must have done the required installs of HSRPs and color-coded stickers. Earlier in October, the Delhi transport department issued a notice publically asking people to get the stickers and plates done as per the requirements.

According to an analysis, there are 12 lakh four-wheelers, 16 lakh two-wheelers, and 2 lakh public transports which need to be fastened.

There are almost 300 suppliers of HSRPs and colour coded stickers, who have also started home delivery for the same.
