Happy Birthday Lata Mageshkar: Bollywood Celebs Sent Their Wishes To Melody Queen On Twitter

Lata Mangeshkar, who is considered as the melody queen of India, turns 89 on September 28 and Bollywood celebrities took it to their social media handle to wish her on this special day. Bollywood celebs who wished her good health and long life include Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit and Madhur Bhandarkar.

Lata started her career in 1943 when she was just 13 years old. Her career started with the songs Naachu ya gade, Khelu saari, mani haus bhaari for Marathi film Kiti Hasaal. She entered into Hindi Music Industry with the song Paa Laagu Kar Jori Re for Vasant Joglekar’s movie AAp Ki Seva Mein.

She got her first major break in 1948 with the song Dil Mera Toda from film Majboor. Her first musical hit number was Aayega Aanewaala from the film Mahal. She is considered as the Indian Nightingale, and some of her hit numbers include Dil Vil Pyar Vyar, Tune O Rangeele Kaisa Jaadu Kiya, Bindiya Chamkegi, Mere Haathon Mein, Aaja Shaam Hone Aayi, Dil Deewana Bin Sajna Ke and Kitne Ajeeb Rishte Hai Yaha Pe and many more.
