Darr was a film that in many ways violated Bollywood formulas since we saw a film in which the anti hero was the lead. At the time, actors weren’t too keen to take risks with their characters and opted for more conventional roles which were tried and proven with the audience. Shah Rukh Khan though decided to not settle for what was normal and went ahead with this one.

Karan Arjun was another revenge saga starring Shah Rukh Khan that managed to make the big bucks at the box-office.
