'Neena Gupta was too Hot for Badhaai Ho role'- on KBC show, Neena Gupta reveals why Ayushmann said no to her
A new promo of KBC 13 has been released which feature Neena Gupta and her Badhai Ho co-actor Gajraj Rao. Neena Gupta makes heads turn around with her roles and the way she bluntly talks about the world’s reality.
At the show, Neena shares the interesting story of her audition for the film Badhaai Ho which was released in the month of 2018. For the role of middle-class women in the film, Neena chose to wear her house help’s clothes in order to crack the audition.

In the promo, she shares how things happened with Amit Sharma the ‘Badhaai Ho’ director. She said, “Amit ne mujhe bulaya office mein. Main gayi toh unke assistant se poochha ‘Iss prakaar ka role hai, main kya pehen ke jaayu? Taaki unko lage ki main yeh character lag sakti hun.’ Bola, ‘Aise hi middle class hai. Salwar kameez pehen lo.’ Maine kaha ‘Thik hai.”
She continued narrating, “Meri jo cook hai, mere ghar mein, uski salwar pehen ke main gayi. Maine unko yeh bola bhi, ‘Sir thik lag rahi hun nah? Salwar mein apni maid ki pehen ke ayi hun.’ Toh unko yeh baat badi impress kar gayi, actually.”

On hearing the narration, Amitabh Bachchan and Gajraj Rao were quite intrigued and kept smiling in surprise. ‘Badhaai Ho’ is a turning point of Neena Gupta’s career for which she is applauded even today.
The film’s main lead Ayushmann also thought that the actress was too hot to be his mom. Neena continued saying in the promo, “And later I got to know, Ayushmann himself also says this, that it was him who said, ‘Don’t cast Neena.’ Because she doesn’t look like a mom. She’s too hot.’ This is what he says.”
