During a segment involving a video call with Sonam Bajwa and Sargun Mehta, Ammy Virk humorously confessed that he often confuses their names while shooting, calling Sargun by Sonam's name and vice versa. This mix-up, according to Virk, irritates both actresses. He jokingly added, "Dono ladkiya hai... Aapas mein toh Banti Nahi" (The two girls don't get along with each other).

Directed by Anand Tiwari, the film earned ₹8.3 crore on its first day, ₹10.25 crore on the second day, ₹11.15 crore on the third day, ₹3.5 crore on the fourth day, and ₹3.75 crore on the fifth day. On Wednesday, the sixth day, the film collected ₹3.25 crore nett, bringing its total earnings to ₹40.2 crore. "Bad Newz" had an overall 12.36 per cent Hindi occupancy on Wednesday.
