The story is based in the 10th century during a hard time in the Chola Empire when the power struggle among the different branches of the ruling family caused a violent uproar between the potential successors to the ruling emperor.

The film has been released in theatres, in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada languages. Bankrolled by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions, the film has been receiving a massive response.
