Ayushmann Khurrana is one of the most versatile actors of Bollywood today. Lately, the actor has been delivering hits at the box office with films like ‘Andhadhun’, ‘Dream Girl’, and ‘Bala’. While he has grabbed all the opportunities to experiment with movies of different concepts, he was disheartened when he couldn’t be a part of ‘Udta Punjab’.
In one such revelation, actor Ayushmann Khurrana has now revealed that he was supposed to play Diljit Dosanjh’s character in ‘Udta Punjab’. It so happened that during a recent interaction with film critic Rajeev Masand, a host of actors including Shahid Kapoor, Ayushmann Khurrana, Vijay Varma, Akshaye Khanna and Ranveer Singh got together for a roundtable discussion.
The actors were asked as to which genres or films they are dying to be a part of but for some reason, they aren’t offered any projects in the space. Ayushmann revealed that he was supposed to be a part of Udta Punjab. The actor recalled. “I was supposed to do that film… Udta Punjab… Diljit’s character. Suddenly mujhe call aaya ki tum nahi kar rahe, so I was heartbroken,” leaving everyone else surprised.
Helmed by Abhishek Chaubey, the film saw Diljit in Sartaj Singh’s role, as he made his debut in Bollywood. The film also starred Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Alia Bhatt in important roles.
