Sardar Udham, starring Vicky Kaushal, released the first full trailer. The video promises an engrossing, well-told story about the late revolutionary freedom fighter Sardar Udham Singh, who assassinated Michael O'Dwyer, the lieutenant governor of Punjab at the time of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar.
The action-packed trailer revealed Sardar Udham's identity as well as the dangerous life he leads to the audience. We also see his character question the status quo and inquire about the distinction between murder and protest. The film appears to be beautifully shot; let's hope the story it tells is equally as compelling.
The trailer shows Udham Singh's operation from planning to execution. We see him enter the country under a false identity, stalk his prey across the city, and then carry out the assassination. There are shades of Steven Spielberg's Munich and Bryan Singer's Valkyrie, both about assassination attempts on high-value targets.
Sardar Udham also marks the very first collaboration between director Shoojit Sircar and actor Vicky Kaushal. The movie apart from Vicky Kaushal, also stars Shaun Scott, Stephen Hogan, Banita Sandhu, Kirsty Averton, and Amol Parashar in pivotal roles.
Sardar Udham, produced by Rising Sun Films and backed by Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar, will be available on Amazon Prime Video on October 16th.
