SONU SOOD AWARDED 'PUNJAB RATTAN', DEDICATES THE HONOUR TO THE SOLDIERS

Over the years many actors who originally hail from Punjab have been able to taste success and Sonu Sood, the boy from Moga district is probably the most renowned name in the list of such contemporary actors. Acknowledging his contribution in elevating Punjab’s stature and Sonu’s humanitarian work for the people in Punjab especially in his hometown, Moga, Governor of Punjab V.P. Singh Badnore presented the actor ‘Punjab Rattan Award’.

The Punjab Rattan Award, is an award given by the Government of Punjab for exceptional excellence and achievement in the service of Punjab or international level in the field of art, literature, culture, science, technology, politics and achievements at the international level.

Sonu Sood, who is currently shooting for J.P Dutta’s directorial next titled ‘Paltan’ dedicated the prestigious award to the to the soldiers who fought the 1971 Indo-Pak war. “I feel really honored to get Punjab Ratan award from the Governor of Punjab and that too at a venue which was full of the families of the martyrs in the 1971 war and several Majors, Colonels, and soldiers who fought that war were also present”, Sonu said in a statement.
