Surjit Bindrakhia Birth Anniversary: ‘Happy Birthday Papa’, Gitaz Bindrakhia Pens Emotional Note

Singer Gitaz Bindrakhia posted an emotional note on his late father Surjit Bindrakhia’s 57^th birth anniversary on April 15. Bindrakhia, who breathed his last in 2003, was a versatile singer and is still remembered as a trendsetter in Punjabi folk singing. During his singing career, Bindrakhia sang over 250 songs.

Bindrakhia, who started out as a `Bhangra’ artist, switched over to Punjabi songs in the year 1991-92. He became popular with his Punjabi album `Munda Ki Mangada’.

He became a house-hold name in Punjab with popular hits such as “Tere vich tu ni tera yaar bolda”, “Dupatta tera satrang da”, and “Lak tunu tunu”.
