Ayushmann Khurrana Introduce K-pop Singer Eric Nam to Rich Indian Cuisine
Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana recently played the role of a gracious host as he took South Korean singing sensation Eric Nam on a delightful culinary journey across India. The two artists, united by their musical prowess and recognition by TIME Magazine as influential figures, share a common passion for food.
Eric, who is currently visiting India for Lollapalooza, met Ayushmann last year at the TIME 100 Impact Award in Singapore which they both won! Since then, Ayushmann & Eric have formed a mutual admiration society and have been in touch constantly! So when the Bollywood actor heard that Eric is going to be his city, Mumbai, he immediately wanted to host him and take him on a deliciously lip-smacking culinary journey of India!
Ayushmann went above and beyond to ensure that Eric's taste buds experienced the richness of India's diverse culinary landscape. From North to South and East to West, Ayushmann treated Eric to a feast of flavors, presenting iconic dishes that showcased the country's culinary prowess.
The delectable menu included West Indian specialties like Kanda Bhajiya with green and red chutney, followed by North Indian delights such as Pindi Chole Amritsari Kulcha. The culinary journey continued with a taste of South India through the tantalizing Hyderabadi Gosht Ki Biryani with Raaita, and concluded with the famed East Indian dessert, Ras Malai.
Expressing his motivation behind the elaborate culinary experience, Ayushmann shared, "I realized that Eric is a big foodie, and I wanted to give him the best food experience of our country that he will never be able to forget. Indian food is a celebration of life itself, and I wanted Eric to feel that when he is in India."
Observing Eric's delight with every bite, Ayushmann was content, stating, "I could see his eyes go wide each time he took a bite and savored each dish to the fullest! I was happy seeing him happy because I truly believe in the saying ‘Atithi Devo Bhava."
In response, Eric Nam expressed his gratitude, saying, "Ayushmann was such a gracious and welcoming host! We took a short but delicious culinary trip throughout India as he guided me through some of the tastiest dishes of this beautiful and vast country."
Eric, an avid foodie, thoroughly enjoyed the diverse dishes, highlighting his favorite as "chole and roti." He concluded, "I really hope to be able to visit India very often to explore the vastness of this country’s cultures and beauties, and of course to have some more delicious foods!" The culinary journey not only tantalized taste buds but also strengthened the bond between these two global entertainers.
