Sachin Tendulkar Shares Glimpse From his Kashmir Visit; Plays 'Gully Cricket' with Locals

Renowned Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar recently experienced his first-ever journey to Kashmir, where he immersed himself in lively gully cricket matches with locals against the backdrop of the stunning scenery of Gulmarg. The cricket legend also took time to explore the Aman Setu bridge, a significant landmark marking the end of the Line of Control in the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir. During his brief visit, Tendulkar conversed with soldiers stationed at the Kaman Post, located adjacent to the Aman Setu bridge, according to officials.

Earlier in the day, Sachin visited a local bat factory, where he fondly recalled his first Kashmir willow bat, a gift from his sister. This moment highlighted the deep personal connections cricket fosters. His visit to the MJ Sports Bat Factory underscored the rich cricketing heritage of Kashmir and the enduring charm of traditional cricket equipment.

In a heartwarming gesture, Sachin, accompanied by his family, halted his car amidst the snowy mountains to enjoy a spontaneous cricket session. Despite his age of 50, Sachin displayed his cricketing prowess by elegantly lofting the ball over the bowler's head and executing classic drive shots.

Following the impromptu cricket match, Sachin graciously posed for selfies with local cricket enthusiasts playing on the roadside. He even delighted the crowd by showcasing some unconventional cricket shots.

Reflecting on his connection with Kashmir willow bats, Sachin shared, "The first bat given to me was by my sister and it was a Kashmir willow bat. Ab main yahan hoon to Kashmir willow ko to milna banta hai! P.S: An interesting fact; some of my favourite bats had only about 5-6 grains. How many grains do your bats have?"

Sachin penned these words on X, reminiscing about his cherished memories associated with cricket and Kashmir.
