One of Aamir Khan's most anticipated films 'Laal Singh Chaddha' released on August 11 amid several challenges that included the call for a boycott of the film and the film's clash with Akshay Kumar-starrer 'Raksha Bandhan'.
In the meanwhile, Bollywood Hungama quoted a source stating that Aamir Khan is in 'a state of shock'. The source said that the actor had worked very hard to make the best version of 'Forrest Gump' but the rejection has hit him very hard.
The immediate repercussions of the major setback may get monetary compensation for the film distributors across the country who faced a huge loss on 'Laal Singh Chaddha'.
Apparently, Aamir Khan took responsibility for the film’s failure. Likewise, he has been working on partially compensating the losses incurred by the distributors.
'Laal Singh Chaddha' and 'Raksha Bandhan' both were not able to make even Rs 20 crore on day 1 at the box office. Unfortunately, the film failed to make a breakthrough on Day 4 either. The film didn't got any benefit of being released during the holidays.
On Thursday, it garnered Rs 11.70 cr, on Friday Rs 7.26 cr, on Saturday Rs 9 cr, and on Sunday Rs 10 cr. As of Sunday, the film has earned a total of Rs 37.96 crore at the box office.
