Kangana Ranaut accuses Karan Johar for banning Priyanka Chopra from Bollywood

Priyanka Chopra, one of the leading actors in Hindi cinema, made her way into Hollywood after her successful stint in the 2015 television series Quantico. However, what many may not know is that she had already been trying to establish herself as an international music artist before her foray into acting in the West. Priyanka appeared in a few music videos, including 'In My City' and 'Exotic', showcasing her singing talent. Despite her initial focus on a music career, Priyanka eventually shifted her attention to acting in the West.

In a recent conversation with Dax Shepherd on his podcast Armchair Expert, she opened up about the reasons behind her move to the West. Priyanka revealed that she felt "cornered" in Bollywood and faced opposition while trying to get cast in films. She also had some grievances with people in the industry, which made her feel uncomfortable. Fortunately, her manager Anjula Acharia saw her in a music video and came to her rescue. Acharia suggested that Priyanka build a music career in the US, which eventually led to her successful transition into Hollywood.

On Tuesday morning, Kangana responded to a news article about Priyanka Chopra's recent statement on why she left Bollywood. In a tweet, Kangana claimed that people had "ganged up" on Priyanka, bullied her, and forced her out of the film industry. Kangana also suggested that Karan Johar had banned Priyanka from the industry and that the media had extensively covered her fallout with Johar due to her friendship with SRK.

Kangana further accused a "movie mafia Cruella" of targeting Priyanka and harassing her to the point where she had to leave India. In another tweet, Kangana called for Karan Johar's gang and mafia PR to be raided and held accountable for harassing outsiders, and blamed Johar for ruining the culture and environment of the film industry. According to Kangana, the film industry was never hostile to outsiders in the days of AB or SRK.
