Kareena Kapoor Khan expresses excitement for Chandrayaan 3 moon mission

Kareena Kapoor Khan recently expressed her excitement and anticipation for the upcoming Chandrayaan-3 moon mission, which is scheduled to make its landing on the moon's surface on Wednesday. She and her small kids, Taimur and Jeh, would be present to witness the Chandrayaan-3's landing on the moon, the well-known actress announced during a media event in the nation's capital.

While sharing about the excitement, Kareena Kapoor said, "It's a great and proud moment for India and all the Indians. You feel that pride in your heart. As Indians, all of us right now, are waiting to watch it. A lot of people are going to be glued to watching it. I am going to be doing that with my boys as well, with bated breath."

On August 23, 2023, at around 18:04 IST, Chandrayaan-3 will be landing on the moon. There will be live streaming of the event available on a number of channels, including the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) website, its official YouTube channel, Facebook, and the public broadcaster DD National TV. At 17:27 IST on August 23, 2023, the broadcast is set to begin.

Earlier today, ISRO unveiled images of the lunar far side captured by the Lander Hazard Detection and Avoidance Camera (LHDAC). This instrumental camera plays a pivotal role in identifying a secure landing site—devoid of boulders or treacherous depressions—during the landing sequence.

Recent accomplishments for the Chandrayaan-3 mission encompass the successful detachment of the 'Vikram' lander module from the propulsion module. Subsequently, the lander underwent crucial deboosting maneuvers and descended to a slightly lower orbit in preparation for its imminent lunar rendezvous.

The GSLV Mark 3 (LVM 3) heavy-lift launch vehicle facilitated the spacecraft's launch, positioning it in lunar orbit on August 5.

The Chandrayaan-3 mission, inaugurated by the Indian Space Research Organisation on July 14, has commenced its journey from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre located in Andhra Pradesh’s Sriharikota.
