Mukesh Khanna's remark on Ranveer Singh playing Shaktimaan sparks controversy; "Work in films where you will get to do a nude scene..."
From the last few months, actor Ranveer Singh has been attaining the entertainment headlines with his upcoming projects. Not just with his Farhan Akhtar's directorial Don 3 but also the remake installment of the infamous television superhero series, Shaktimaan. We all have grown watching and enjoying Shaktimaan in our childhood, more like our childhood godfather who saved the world from evil powers. The man who was critically responsible for making the legend look evergreen was the titular actor, Mukesh Khanna. Recently amid all the media reports and rumors, the veteran actor has finally opened up about his feelings on Ranveer Singh playing the iconic character, which has surely sparked overall controversy.
The actor has recently taken over his Instagram handle to share his vivid reaction on the re-installlemnt of the iconic television series, Shaktimaan and went all unabashed while keepin his strong point of view. He wrote, "Pura social media mahinon se is rumour se bhara pada tha ki Ranveer karega Shaktimaan. Aur har koi naaraz tha ise lekar. Main chup raha. Lekin jub channels ne bhi elaan karna shuru kar diya ki Ranveer sign ho gaya hai. To mujhe muhn kholana pada. Aur maine bol diya ki aisi image wala vyakti kitna bhi bada star kyon na ho Shaktimaan nahin ban sakta. I have put my foot down. Ab Aaga aage dekhiye hota hai kya ??"
Mukesh Khanna, who makes YouTube videos these days has also taken up a vivid review on his YouTube channel and spoke against Ranveer Singha and threw remarks on his overall cinematic personality. In the video, he said, "I have told the producers, that your competition is not with Spider-Man, Batman, Captain Planet. Shaktimaan is not just a superhero, he has also become a super teacher. Now, the actor who takes on the role should have the quality that when he speaks, people will listen. There are big actors, but their image comes in the middle."
Meanwhile, it was during the last month when the remake of Shaktimaan news broke out and as per the source insiders, Ranveer Singh will be starting his shooting for the superhero venture soon after wrapping up Don 3. "Right after Don 3, it’s time for Shaktimaan. The film has been in the writing stage for over 3 years now and the team has finally cracked a script that’s worthy of doing justice to the legacy of Shaktimaan. The film will be directed by Basil Joseph, with Sony Pictures India and Sajid Nadiadwala as the producers," the source confirmed.
