Priyanka Chopra Reflects on the 'Pressure' of Starring in Woman-Centric Films, Addresses Failures, and Empowering Women

Priyanka Chopra is undoubtedly one of the most powerful woman, not just in India, but globally. Accessing through the Miss World pageantry, PeeCee landed in Bollywood in Early 2000's and has done quite a remarkable job within the glitzy industry.  Now, as one of the leading global star in Hollywood, she assesses women power and have broken all boundaries of success accolading one after another. Recently, Priyanka was seen talking about women centric films and the pressure she feels while doing them. But in contrary, as per the actress, the pressure doubles when these films fail in the filmy realm.

The feeling of shouldering pressure she feels when a women centric movie fails!

Mrs. Jonas in currently in Mumbai as she flew back to the city for the prestigious Jio MAMI Film Festival 2023 and serving mesmerizing moments ever since it has taken off! Recently she was seen getting engaged in a delving conversation with actress Bhumi Pednekar during a masterclass of the film festival, where she talked about the pressure aka responsibility while leading a women oriented film. As per PeeCee, "There’s a lot of pressure when you have a female-led film, because we have so few, so when they don’t do well you feel the collective failure on behalf of all women." She added her personal feeling when such movie fails in the market and calls it a moment where she feels like she has taken women a few steps back and gasped it a collective failure by letting womankind down.

Priyanka's perspective has changed eventually!

Referring to her current scenario, she had also put light on how she sees things differently now. "But I’ve learned to pivot my mind around that – it’s not personal. When a movie works, it works because it has something to say. And if it doesn’t work, it didn’t say what it needed to say," she quoted adding adding her perspective. 

During the talking session, she recalled breaking stereotypes during the initial days of her career. Priyanka remembered while doing the 2008 movie 'Fashion' people have tried to make her realize the fact that actresses should only focus on doing female centric films by the end of their career so they can earn the National Award. But in contrary, PeeCee's impeccable role in 'Fashion' made her win the coveted National Award just during the beginning of her glamorous career that was lying ahead! 

Priyanka Chopra's work front!

Speaking off her professional front, Priyanka Chopra Jonas was last seen in Hollywood rom-com 'Love Again' opposite to San Heughan and Celine Dion. She was also seen playing the female lead in Prime Video original spy-thriller series 'Citadel' that gained critical acclamation all over the world. Meanwhile, Her sleeves are full of movies that include her upcoming project 'Heads of State' where she will be seen along side John Cena and Idris Elba.
