Sidharth Malhotra Shares Selfie as He Casts his Vote in Delhi for Lok Sabha Election 2024
Delhi-born actor Sidharth Malhotra made sure to fulfil his duty as a responsible citizen by voting in the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha Election 2024. He flew back to his hometown, Delhi, to cast his vote.
After voting on Saturday, Sidharth shared a photo on Instagram. In the selfie, he is seen wearing a white shirt and sunglasses. He captioned the post, "Came to my hometown, Delhi, to celebrate the world's largest democracy by voting. Delhi, go out 'Vote' #DelhiVoteNow #VoteForIndia."
The sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections covers eight seats in Bihar, ten in Haryana, one in Jammu and Kashmir, four in Jharkhand, all seven seats in Delhi, six in Odisha, fourteen in Uttar Pradesh, and eight in West Bengal. A total of 889 candidates are competing in this phase.
Simultaneously, voting for forty-two assembly constituencies in Odisha is also taking place. Delhi and Haryana are fully participating in this phase.
Key seats in this phase include New Delhi, North-East Delhi, North-West Delhi, and Chandni Chowk in the capital. Other significant constituencies are Sultanpur and Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh, Anantnag-Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir, Tamluk and Medinipur in West Bengal, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Gurgaon, and Rohtak in Haryana, and Bhubaneswar, Puri, and Sambalpur in Odisha. Major parties like BJP, Congress, Aam Aadmi Party, and others from the INDIA bloc are keenly contesting this phase.
So far, polling has been completed in 428 parliamentary constituencies across 25 states and union territories during the first five phases. Over 11.13 crore voters, including 5.84 crore men, 5.29 crore women, and 5120 third-gender voters, are eligible to vote in this phase. Around 11.4 lakh polling officials are involved in conducting the election.
The Lok Sabha elections will conclude on June 1 with the seventh phase, where voters from 57 constituencies will cast their ballots. The results will be announced on June 4.
On the professional front, Sidharth Malhotra was recently seen in the film 'Yodha,' produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Shashank Khaitan, with co-stars Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna.
