In an amusing yet shocking incident, the Padma Shri awardee Kamala Pujari, who was unwell and hospitalised, was 'forced' to dance before being discharged from the hospital.
The members of the Paraja tribal community of Odisha have sought action against a woman social worker who allegedly forced the Padma Shri awardee Kamala Pujari to dance inside a hospital before she was being discharged.
In the meanwhile, a video is going viral on social media in which Kamala was seen dancing in the ICU of the government hospital. Likewise, the social worker was also seen dancing with her while music was being played in the background.
Reportedly, Kamala Pujari told media persons that she never wanted to dance but she was forced. She said that she denied it repeatedly, but the social worker did not listen to her.
She said that she had to dance while she was sick and tired. She hails from the Koraput district.
Likewise, the president of the tribal community’s association 'Paraja Samaja', Harish Muduli, said that its members will protest if the government failed to take action against the social worker.
The social worker has been identified as Mamata Behera. Pujari was conferred with Padma Shri in 2019 for promoting organic farming. She was also conferred for preserving over 100 varieties of indigenous seeds of different crops including paddy.
She was reportedly admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack with some kidney ailments.
