Initially slated for a theatrical release on 24th May across international markets, including India, the latest update has disappointed fans as the movie's release in Indian cinemas stands postponed.
The delay in India is attributed to regulatory hurdles raised by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and guidelines stipulated by the Election Commission of India (ECI). The timing of the film's release coincided with the election period, prompting restrictions on promotional activities and release schedules by the ECI's directives.
In a bid to keep fans informed, Gurnam Bhullar took to social media, sharing a video to announce the postponement of "Rose, Rosy Te Gulab" in India. Assuring audiences of the film's eventual release post-elections, Bhullar assured that the new release date would be communicated promptly once the necessary formalities were completed.
Addressing concerns and dispelling any misconceptions, Gurnam Bhullar emphasized that the delay had no political affiliations or intentions. He clarified that neither he nor the film's team endorsed any particular political party, urging fans not to conflate the announcement with ongoing elections.
However, while the film's release is stalled in India, audiences in other countries, including Canada, Australia, and the UK, can still watch "Rose, Rosy Te Gulab" in theatres as scheduled on 24th May. Bhullar himself plans to mark the occasion by visiting theatres in Canada on the day of the film's release, underscoring the global appeal and anticipation surrounding the romantic drama.
Despite the setback in its home market, the international release of "Rose, Rosy Te Gulab" remains on course, promising audiences a captivating cinematic experience beyond Indian shores.
