IIFM 2022: Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh's magnificent performance in '83' has made him garner a lot of appreciation from not only the fans but also from several film critics. Now, Ranveer Singh has won the Best Actor award at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IIFM) 2022.

He was honoured for his role in Kabir Khan's '83', which showcased India's first Cricket World Cup triumph in 1983. The film was released in cinemas on December 24, 2021, but couldn't do well due to the Covid-19 situation.
Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh expressed his happiness on receiving the Best Actor Award at IIFM 2022. He thanked all the jury members at IFFM for bestowing him with the Best Actor of the Year Award for his portrayal of Kapil Dev in '83'.

"It'll always be one of the most cherished films in my filmography," he said, adding that he was grateful to Kabir Sir for giving him the opportunity, for guiding him and for inspiring him.

Likewise, Ranveer Singh dedicated the honour to each and every member of Kapil Dev's World Cup-winning team. Apart from Ranveer Singh, the film featured Harrdy Sandhu, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Saqib Saleem, Ammy Virk, Deepika Padukone, and Pankaj Tripathi among others.
On the work front, Ranveer will be next seen in Rohit Shetty's 'Cirkus' and also 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani'.
