Rapper Badshah issues apology statement after his song 'Sanak' controversy

Badshah 'Sanak' controversy: After releasing his most recent single, "Sanak," rapper Badshah stirred up some controversy. As some people took issue with the lyrics of the rapper's new song, on Monday, April 24, he posted an apology to social media.

After his most recent tune, "Sanak," was released on Monday, Badshah apologised for "hurting" people's feelings and pledged to rework "certain elements of the song." The rapper said that, in order to "further avoid hurting anyone," a fresh version of the song has already been "actioned the replacement" on all digital platforms.

On Instagram, Badshah said that he would never "willingly or unknowingly" offend anyone but that he would like to apologise because his most recent song has offended people's feelings.

In his apology statement he wrote, "It has been brought to my attention that one of my recent releases, Sanak, sadly seems to have hurt the sentiments of some people. I would never willingly or unknowingly cause offence to anyone’s sentiments. I bring my artistic creations and musical compositions to you, my fans, with the utmost sincerity and passion. In light of this recent development, I have taken proactive measures to change some parts of the song and actioned the replacement with this new version on all digital platforms to further avoid hurting anyone."

It has been reported that a senior priest from the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain criticised Badshah for using the name of Lord Shiva (Bholenath) and some explicit language in the song. Additionally, he demanded that the performer apologise for "hurting religious emotions" and take God's name out of "Sanak."

The song Sanak, which was published last month, has received 22 million views on Badshah's official YouTube website.
