Festivals are all about happiness, family get together, dance, lights and laughter. But the festival of ‘Lohri’ carries certain excitement with it which is quite typical to all the Punjabis. Bonfire post sunset, dancing to the groovy beats of dhol, flying kites, til (black sesame seeds), gajak, gur (jaggery), peanuts, popcorn and scrumptious feast, all that makes ‘Lohri’ much more than a regular festival.
PTC Punjabi, on the occasion of this auspicious festival took an initiative to make the underprivileged girls of ‘Jyoti Swaroop Kanya Asra Society’ feel special by giving them an opportunity to interact, dance and sing with Punjabi star singers Babbal Rai and Kaur B. Jyoti Swaroop Kanya Asra Society, an NGO running since 1998 has made a substantial contribution in ‘girls’ rights’ and is currently look after 120 underprivileged girls while providing for their education etc.
Punjabi stars Babbal Rai and Kaur B had a gala time with the girls as they sang songs, took selfies and enjoyed animated conversation with the children. Girls from ‘Jyoti Swaroop Kanya Asra Society’ said that this was the best moment of their life and thanked PTC Punjabi for conducting the show. So don’t forget to watch ‘Dhiyaan Di Lohri Sitareyan De Naal’ on 13th January at 6.45 PM only on PTC Punjabi.
