Boycott Bollywood trend: Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt, who recently bagged a lot of appreciation from the audience for her work in 'Darlings', is trending again on Twitter but, this time, not for the right reason.

The netizens seemed to have been offended by Alia Bhatt's recent statement over the 'boycott' trend. Likewise, the netizens have started trending the 'boycott' hashtag on Twitter yet again.

Recently, Alia Bhatt, in an interview, said, "if you don't like me, don't watch me". The statement triggered anger amongst the netizens as the clip of Alia is going viral on social media, with a lot of Twitter users calling for a boycott of her upcoming film 'Brahmastra'.

A social media user said, "Bollywood seems to be losing its mind because of the boycott Bollywood trend." Likewise, another user said, "Inspired by Kareena Kapoor Khan, now Alia Bhatt says, 'I can't keep defending myself verbally. And if you don't like me, don't watch me'. So you know what should we do next with her upcoming movie, Bhramastra, right?"

"The audacity of a nepo seed! Challenge accepted!!! 'Boycott Brahmastra'" wrote another user.

Earlier, an old interview of Kareena Kapoor had surfaced on social media ahead of the release of her film 'Laal Singh Chaddha'. In the video, Kareena had said something similar to Alia that led to the 'boycott' trend on Twitter.

Notably, 'Brahmastra' is scheduled to hit the theatres on September 9 and it features Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, and south actor Nagarjuna in prominent roles.
