Bollywood’s upcoming movie ’83’, based on the life of former Indian captain Kapil Dev who led the side to lift the World Cup in 1983, has been in news ever since its announcement, for all the right reasons. After Ranveer Singh, Pollywood superstar Ammy Virk has been signed to play a role in the film.
While Ranveer will be playing Kapil Dev on screen, Ammy Virk will portray pacer Balwinder Singh Sandhu in the the movie.
Reliance Entertainment tweeted the news of casting Punjabi actor, Ammy Virk as Balwinder Singh Sandhu for the movie. They shared a video and wrote:”’83’ tells the story of India’s incredible 1983 cricket world cup victory. Ammy Virk will be playing the role of the bowler, Balwinder Singh Sandhu, who knocked out Gordon Greenidge in 1983 cricket world cup final.”

Ammy Virk is a Punjabi singer, actor, and producer in the Punjabi industry. He has won PTC Music Award for his debut album ‘Jattizm’ in 2013. Later on, he was awarded with Best Debut Actor at PTC Punjabi Film Awards for his movie ‘Angrej’.
He is known for his superhit Punjabi movies ‘Nikka Zaildar’, ‘Qismat’, ‘Ardaas’, among many other hit movies.
Directed by Kabir Khan, the movie will release on 10 April 2020.
