Guneet Monga visits Golden Temple Amritsar after winning 'Oscar 2023' trophy

Producer Guneet Monga paid a visit to the Golden Temple in Amritsar to express her gratitude after making history by winning the first Oscar for an Indian production with her documentary The Elephant Whisperers.

India can't be happier for Guneet Monga after she recently won the Best Documentary (Short Subject) Category at the Oscars 2023 with her cinematic miracle The Elephant Whisperers. In addition, Guneet's mother promised to drive him to the Golden Temple in Amritsar following the major win barely two months before to the awards, and a video of that promise is currently trending on social media.

Several viewers sent heartfelt comments on the video shortly after it was shared, dotting them with red emoticons.

The Michelin Star chef's mother made a promise to Guneet Monga, and as a result, Guneet will be visiting the Golden Temple. Guneet's transportation to the Golden Temple would be provided by Vikas Khanna's mother if she won the Oscar, and the promise was kept.

As The Elephant Whisperers won, producer Guneet Monga expressed his current reaction to not being able to speak on the Oscars 2023 stage. A video from the ceremony went viral, showing Guneet waiting for filmmaker Kartiki Gonsalves to finish her speech and take the stage while holding the Academy Award for Best Documentary Short Film in her hand. The Academy, however, snubbed Guneet and prevented her from speaking.
