Google celebrates birth anniversary of music maestro Bhupen Hazarika with special doodle
Who was Bhupen Hazarika? On the occasion of the 96th birth anniversary of the music maestro Bhupen Hazarika, the tech giant Google has paid a heartfelt tribute to him with a special doodle.
Google celebrated the 96th birth anniversary of Bhupen Hazarika with a colourful and creative illustration of the legendary singer on its home page.

Bhupen Hazarika was the Indian music maestro who received India's highest civilian award, Bharat Ratna, by President Ram Nath Kovind in 2019. He was a prominent musician and even an acclaimed poet and filmmaker. Born on September 8, 1926, he passed away on November 5, 2011.
He was the most popular musician in West Bengal and Bangladesh. Hazarika was known for introducing the culture and folk music of Assam and Northeast India to Hindi cinema.

He was prominently known as Sudhakantha, the nightingale. He was also conferred with the National Film Award, Padmashri, Dada Saheb Phalke Award, Padma Vibhushan, and many other prestigious honours.
