Sufi singer and Padma Shri awardee Hans Raj Hans is celebrating his birthday today. Hans Raj Hans has been singing Sufi songs since the age of five. He received the training in Sufi singing from Ustad Puran Shahkoti Sahib.

Born in Shafipur village near Jalandhar, Hans Raj Hans has so far delivered many hit songs like ‘Silli Silli’, ‘Dil Tote Tote’, ‘Nachi Jo Sade Naal’, ‘Jhanjhar’, ‘Dil Chori Sada Ho Gaya’ and ‘Appa Doway’ among others.

Besides, he is also famous in Bollywood owing to his songs like ‘Khali Dil Nahi Jaan Bhi’ and ‘Tumba Tumba’ among others. Hans Raj Hans began his Bollywood journey under greatest Sufi genius Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan in Kachche Dhaage in 1999.

Following his devotion towards his singing career, Hans Raj Hans received the fourth highest civilian award of India, Padma Shri Award for arts.
