The third crorepati of KBC 13 Geeta Singh Gour talks about her time on the hot seat and meeting Amitabh Bachchan, the show's presenter. Geeta also discusses how she intends to help others with her knowledge.
Geeta Singh Gour of Gwalior became the third crorepati on Kaun Banega Crorepati 13 on Tuesday night. With a law degree, the 53-year-old hopes to make the most of her second innings and show that women are capable of much more than just stay-at-home moms.
In an exclusive interview with indianexpress.com, Geeta revealed that her favorite part of KBC 13 was not being named a 'crorepati,' but being chosen for the hot seat. She said, "The award money was always a secondary consideration. All of my knowledge would have been useless if I had never had the opportunity to play the game. However, I was confident that once I arrived, I would not take the quiz lightly because I was representing housewives who were looking for a way to establish themselves. I didn't want anyone to doubt my motives or suggest that women should stay at home."
While Geeta Singh Gour comes from a patriarchal household, she claims that the men in her family have always supported women's emancipation. "They always thought that women could do things, whether it was my grandfather, father, or now my husband. I've had that belief since I was a child, and it's given me the confidence to take control of my life at this age."
She went on to say that the festivities started at home the moment she was put on the hot seat. Geeta described her time with host Amitabh Bachchan as bizarre, saying she couldn't believe such a big personality could be so humble.
Geeta Singh Gour, like Big B, wants to encourage other housewives to develop their own identities. Geeta also mentioned that she has been getting a lot of calls from people seeking advice on how to get on KBC. I've been besieged with questions, and to be honest, I've decided to assist everyone. If I can reach my goals, I want others to be able to do so as well. She stated, "I will be available for any kind of assistance to anyone who requires it."
Geeta said she hasn't had time to plan how she will spend her prize money because she is now preparing for her son's wedding in December.
On Sony TV, Kaun Banega Crorepati 13 airs. Himani Bundela and Sahil Ahirwar had previously won Rs 1 crore on the show
