The makers of the film ‘Kesari’ have released the first look poster on social media. The poster features actor Akshay Kumar as a Sikh soldier. Dharma Productions’ ‘Kesari’ is based on The Battle of Saragarhi. Akshay Kumar shared the first look poster of the film with his fans on Twitter. He captioned the poster as “On #SaragarhiDay, here’s the first look of #KESARI - our humble tribute to the martyrs of Saragarhi! Aaj meri pagdi bhi Kesari...Jo  bahega mera woh lahu bhi Kesari... Aur mera jawaab bhi Kesari.”

Besides Akshay, film's producer Karan Johar also shared the poster with his fans on his Twitter handle and he wrote: "Today we remember the heroes! Circa 1897. 21 SIKHS VS 10000 AFGHANS. THE BRAVEST BATTLE EVER FOUGHT!!! #KESARI." ‘Kesari’ is the third film where ‘Khiladi’ actor will be seen donning the avatar of a Sikh, after 'Singh Is Kinng' and 'Singh Is Bliing'. The film is based on the true story of the 19th-century battle when around 12,000 Afghans attacked a British Indian contingent, which also comprised 21 Sikhs who went on to become the heroes of the mission. Earlier in 2017, Karan announced his collaboration with Akshay with a poster. He wrote, “Extremely excited to see this exceptional and brave story unfold!!! @akshaykumar #KESARI #holi2019.” Directed by Anurag Singh, ‘Kesari’ will release on the festival of Holi in 2019. The film also stars Parineeti Chopra in lead role.
