In the 66th National Awards, Sameep Singh Ranaut has won the title of best child artist for his debut movie ‘Harjeeta’. Sameep played the role of young Harjeeta in the sports drama, which is inspired from true stories. Besides Sameep, the film also won the best Punjabi film award at the same ceremony. Sameep Singh, who was overwhelmed by receiving the award, took down to Instagram to pen an emotional note. Sameep wrote: “Being actor is tough. One has to go through many hardships. Eventually success comes wahen YOUR FIRST(DEBUT) MOVIE WINS NATIONAL AWARD. Yes truly after many years HARJEETA won NATIONAL AWARD. I just can't express my joy. I am extremely delighted to be part of the movie. Congrats to the whole team who did their work with full dedication. Thank you audience for showering immense love.”
He owned the screen for almost 40 minutes in the beginning.He used to practice hockey at the same place where Sawan used to practice; and thus he caught the actress’s attention. Thereafter, she recorded an audition clip of him, and that’s how he bagged the role. The star kid has also worked in films like ‘Uda Aida’, ‘Qismat’, ‘Rabb da Radio2’, ‘Guddiyan Patole’, and ‘Ardaas Karaan’. He has achieved great heights with his first film, and he learnt swimming and hockey for the film.
