Taapsee Pannu has slammed the box office with her latest release ‘Thappad’. The film, based on the social issue of domestic violence is a very crucial issue as it is a part of three out of four houses even in the urban city.

The film tells the story of an educated girl, who gets slapped by her husband at a family get – together. Thence, she steps forward to take legal action against the slap. She begins her fight against domestic violence, which is considered as a mere slap by her family and friends.

In an exclusive interaction with PTC Punjabi, Taapsee Pannu talks about her character from the film and how it is the opposite of her real character. She reveals that she started feeling claustrophic from the character as it was just not her.

“I started feeling suffocated with the character as it is not me. I just wanted to finish it up because Amrita’s character is entirely opposite from me in real life. I can not suffer as much as she could, neither could I do all those what she could do. She has this personality of putting everyone ahead of her, which is not me.”
