Madras High Court had recently asked the Central government to ban the Chinese video sharing app, TikTok in India.
After which Google and Apple were asked to remove TikTok from their app stores by India’s Ministry of Electronic and Information Technology.
The video app is quite a craze in the country and users make jokes, memes, lip-syncing clips, dance videos and more using the application. It has 120 million users in India and the company employs as many as 250 people.
It was stated that some graphic content on the app was making pornography easily accessible for children. The app also got a lot of backlash for providing a platform to cyberbullying.
