Sunil Grover to join The Kapil Sharma Show again? Here's what the comedian said
Television comedy fans were left heartbroken when Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover, one of the most iconic comic pairs on Indian television, parted ways in 2017 following a physical altercation on a flight. Grover, who played the iconic characters of Gutthi and Dr. Mashoor Gulati, left the show after the fallout with Sharma, leaving fans disappointed and hopeful for a potential comeback.
In 2017, Kapil Sharma took to Twitter to apologise to Grover, expressing his love and regret for the altercation. However, Grover never responded to the tweet, and months later, he hinted that he would not return to the show after Kapil's public apology.
In an interview Grover was asked if he was open to working with Sharma again, to which he responded, "There is nothing like that, or ask him then. I am also busy right now and enjoying what I am doing. He is also busy and doing good work. I am also doing good work. I have already enjoyed my phase of non-fiction and am currently liking the fiction setup, gaining new experiences as a performer. I am having fun. There are no such plans right now."
Despite fans hoping for Grover's return, he has consistently kept the door closed on reuniting with Sharma on the show. However, fans of the show were dealt another blow when another good comedian, Krushna Abhishek, left the show last year, reportedly due to monetary issues.
Fortunately, recent reports suggest that Krushna Abhishek may be in talks with the makers of the show about returning to The Kapil Sharma Show, much to the delight of fans who have missed his talent on the show.
It has been over six years since the fallout between Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover, and while fans continue to hope for a reunion, it appears that Grover is content with his current projects, including his recent appearance on the web show, United Kacche. The series, which premiered on ZEE5 on March 31, 2023, also features Sapna Pabbi and Satish Shah and follows the story of Tango, who dreams of moving abroad from his small town in Punjab, but finds himself as an illegal immigrant in the UK.
