Vicky Kaushal has created a huge buzz already for his upcoming movie Sardar Udham Singh. The Uri actor recently treated his fans with an intriguing teaser of the movie on Monday.
The teaser is devoid of dialogue, depicts the creation of a forged passport, and concludes with the sound of gunshots, echoing the plot of the film.
"On the birth anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, I'm proud to bring to you the story of his ally - Sardar Udham Singh - one man, many aliases, one mission," Vicky Kaushal wrote while sharing the sneak peek of the movie.
In the video, we see Kaushal's character putting together a document. The camera then shifts the emphasis to a stack of passports, each with a different name, presumably an alias of our hero. Sardar Udham Singh is the owner of one of those passports.
For the unversed, Sardar Udham Singh was the revolutionary who assassinated Michael O'Dwyer in Westminster, London, in 1940. In 1919, Michael O'Dwyer, the Lieutenant Governor of Punjab at the time, dispatched troops to Jallianwala Bagh, where they opened fire on an unarmed protestor gathering. The Jallianwala Bagh massacre had a profound impact on the young Udham Singh, who shot Michael O'Dwyer two decades later and was hanged for murder.
Sardar Udham Singh's cast also includes Shaun Scott, Stephen Hogan, Banita Sandhu, Kirsty Averton, and Amol Parashar, in addition to Vicky Kaushal. Sardar Udham Singh will be released globally on the OTT platform Prime Video on October 16th.
