Visakhapatnam Couple blessed with twin girls the same day they lost their 2 daughter in an accident

Luck shined on a couple from Visakhapatnam two years after a boat disaster took away their two children, and they became parents of twins.

Appala Raju and Bhagyalakshmi of Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, were a broken couple in 2019 after their two daughters were abducted by a boat in the Godavari river. They were blessed with twins two years later.

Appala Raju and Bhagyalakshmi lost their one-year-old and three-year-old daughters after a ferry sunk on the Godavari river near Kachuluru in East Godavari district on September 15, 2019. The children were accompanying their grandma to a historic Bhadrachalam temple on the Godavari's bank in Telangana's Bhdradri Kothagudem district.

Two years after the catastrophe, which claimed the lives of 50 people, luck smiled on the couple when Bhagyalakshmi gave birth to twin daughters on the same day, September 15.

Raju and Bhagyalakshmi, who work in a Visakhapatnam glass production plant, were pleased and referred to their twins as a divine blessing.
