World’s No 1 Punjabi Entertainment channel, PTC Punjabi will air Amrinder Gill and Sargun Mehta starrer film ‘Lahoriye’ on June 2 at 8.30 pm IST. Released in 2017, the movie was a hit owing to its brilliant story line.

The movie bagged 16 awards in different categories including the best actor at the PTC Punjabi Film awards in 2018.

IDEA

The idea of ‘Lahoriye‘ film came during the shooting of Punjab film ‘Love Punjab’. The shooting of ‘Love Punjab’ was happening near the border. One person told the director “Our farm was close to the border and a wire was drawn to separate the area from each other. When we used to go for farming the army man used to go with us. Sometimes, people from across the border used to call us to come and have tea or lassi.” Listening to this, the director Ambardeep Singh thought of the idea to make Lahoriye film.

TITLE

When the title of the film was going to be decided then Amberdeep thought about his village. It had few houses of lahoriyan. People used to call those people lahoriyan. The story was also based on people who came from across the border to this side so the film was titled ‘Lahoriye’.

SHOOTING

The shooting of the film was done in Abhohar area. Pakistan’s village and border were also made in abohar area. The whole team of the film worked hard on making the Pakistani village and went into small details. This attention to details you can see when you watch the film.

AWARDS

‘Lahoriye’ film won many awards in PTC Punjabi film awards 2018. The foremost awards were for best actor that went to Amrinder Gill, Sargun won best actress and Amberdeep won best director and ‘Lahoriye’ won best film award.
