Director Tinnu Anand recalls his golden days with Rishi Kapoor and Shashi Kapoor while making 'Duniya Meri Jeb Mein'

Yesteryear's most prolific Bollywood stars, Rishi Kapoor and Shashi Kapoor needs no introduction when it comes to their work, surreal celebrity fame and a remembering legacy. With some of the most acclaimed and successful movies, both of them ruled the Bollywood industry during 1970's to 1980's. Recently, both of their's many unheard incidants were revealed by starry filmmaker, Tinnu Anand. During a recent interview, the director recalled working with both of them in his directorial debut 'Duniya Meri Jeb Mein' and also revealed why it has taken 5 long years to finish.

Tinnu Anand has recently taken his fandom through the memorylanes of his iconic late 70's wherein he crocheted the 1979 classic action thriller, Duniya Meri Jeb Mein. The mvie starred Rishi Kapoor and Shashi Kapoor which went onto becoming one of the superhit movies of the year. Tinu in a sequence revealed Shashi's tagged along name in the set, where Raj Kapoor use to call him as 'Taxi Actor' as he use to give specific hours of the day. "Shashi did five shifts in a day but he didn’t give me more than two hours. He used to come at 7 and by 9.30, he will pack up and leave for his next shift. One of the five shifts he used to do,' Tinnu says. 

The problems faced by the director 

Proceeding further, he also revealed few secrets of Rishi Kapoor, who according to him has worked in the film for free as he shared a good friendship with Tinnu's brother and the film's producer Bittu Anand. But Rishi came with a condition, says director. "I will not come before 10.30 because I am a late riser." The phase was tough for Tinnu to balance with as one use to come early in the morning while the other a late raiser. "They play brothers in my film (Shashi Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor). One comes at 7 and leaves at 9 and the other," which is also the reason for his long time of making as he quoted saying, "that is why the film took me five years to complete."

About Duniya Meri Jeb Mein

It is a 1979 Hindi action thriller written and directed by     Inder Raj Anand and Tinnu Anand respectively. Produced by Naresh Malhotra and Bittu Anand, the movie stars Rishi Kapoor and Shashi Kapoor along with other pivotal actors that included Neetu Kapoor, Ranjeet, Agha, Pinchoo Kapoor and Nadira.
