Sharmila Tagore talks about her first ever bikini moment in Bollywood: See who supported her during the backlash

When classic Bollywood quipped about, Sharmila Tagore is one constant name that often pops into our head. Known for possessing one of the most prolific caliber and versatility in Indian cinema, Tagore has contributed immensely to the glamorous industry throughout her long career. Married to Mansoor Ali Khan in 1968, Sharmila Ji remained under his love's shed for a long time until he passed in the year 2011. But it didn't keep Tagore contending to not miss him and talk about him as she could be always seen mentioning the love and support she has received from his heavenly beloved all throughout their period of togetherness.

Similarly, during a recent interview with a YouTuber, the veteran actress could be seen taking her fans to the iconic days of bikini controversy. One of the first Indian actresses who dared to don a bikini, Sharmila Tagore gave the hottest headlines of then Bollywood. Recalling the moment, she quipped about her husband's reaction to the same. According to her, he was very supportive and mentioned his reaction as "calm and non-judgemental" even though he was away in London and had no clue about the bikini thing happening in India.

While she was speaking about the incident she also recalled how her bikini pictures had stirred the Parliament and questions have been raised against her decision to don such an exclusive westernized outfit in India, but she also asserted that she has worn the bikini of her own will, thus no one has forced her. Since she was young, pretty, and had a good figure, she didn't pay heed to why. 

Meanwhile, Bollywood's veteran actress, Sharmila Tagore was last seen in the Hindi family drama 'Gulmohar' alongside Manoj Bajpayee which was released back in 2023.
