Dhanteras, which falls two days before Diwali, is considered one of the most important Hindu festivals.

Dhanteras is made up of two words: Dhan (wealth) and Teras (thirteen). The festival is held on the thirteenth day of Krishna Paksha in the month of Kartik, when the Goddess of Wealth, Maa Lakhsmi, is worshipped. This festival, also known as Dhantrayodashi, takes place on the first day of the five-day Diwali festival.
