Happy Birthday Bohemia: Here’s How He Became The King Of Punjabi Rap

Well known Punjabi singer Bohemia is known for crooning hit songs like ‘Car Nachdi’, ‘Pagol’, ‘Same Beef’ among others. The singer was born on October 15, 1979 in Karachi as Roger David. He moved to the United States with his family at the age of 13.

He was introduced to a young hip-hop producer called ‘Sha One’ by one of his cousin in Oakland in the early 2000. They both formed their own music label called ‘The Outfit Entertainment’. After Sha heard Bohemia reciting something he had written in Punjabi he asked him to rap it over one of his beats and that turned out as his debut album ‘Vich Pardesan De’.

Bohemia very rarely collaborates outside of Kali Denali Music especially when it comes to hip-hop. However, Desi Beam from Chandigarh, Punjab is the only desi hip-hop crew that he has ever collaborated with for songs.

His second album ‘Pesa Nasha Pyar’ became the first full length Punjabi rap album. Later on, he received four nominations at the UK Asian Music Awards and PTC Punjabi music awards for his third album, ‘Da Rap Star’.

Bohemia’s fourth album ‘Thousand Thoughts’ won Best Non-Resident Punjabi Album award at PTC Punjabi Music Awards in 2013.

The singer also won the ‘Special Award’ in 2018 as International Punjabi Icon at PTC Punjabi Music Awards.

Bohemia has more than 105 songs under his name so far and the singer will soon surprise his fans with amazing rap numbers.

We wish him a very happy birthday!
