Meet Simran Singh Sandhu: First Sikh Cadet To Become A Solo Pilot In Australia At 15!

16-year-old Simran Singh Sandhu made the Sikhs proud across the globe after he became a solo pilot in Australia in 2018. He achieved this feat when he was just 15. Simran hails from Ferozepur, a small city in Punjab. According to the PTC News, he achieved the licence for solo pilot at domestic airport Jundakot’s Royal Aero Club (WA) after having a good training and a successful solo flight.

Here are 5 things you should know about the young Sikh pilot:

  • Simran migrated to Australia in 2008 with his parents Harpal Singh Sandhu and Ranjit Kaur Sandhu.
  • At present, he is a student of 12th in Rosemine Sr. High school.
  • He admitted to Australian Air Force as a cadet on April 22, 2015.
  • Simran got trained under his instructor Mr. David.
  • Along with his parents and instructor, Simran’s grandparents Dalbir Singh Sandhu and Mrs. Sandhu were also present at the time he received the certificate.

The whole Sikh community around the world is proud of him for being the first Sikh cadet and receiving a solo pilot licence.
