‘Thankful To Punjabi Audience For Loving Me’, Says ‘Fourth Time Best Actress’ Sargun Mehta

Sargun Mehta is achieving new heights in Punjabi film Industry all the time. The actress has recently been adjudged the best actress in the Punjabi film industry for the year 2018 in the recently held PTC Punjabi Film Awards in Mohali on March 16. This was her fourth ‘Best Actress’ award in a row. However, the actress gave credit to the Punjabi audience for accepting her in the industry.

In this year’s PTC Punjabi Film Awards, Sargun Mehta won the Best Actress award for her outstanding performance in ‘Qismat’, which also featured Ammy Virk in the lead role.

While talking exclusively to PTC Punjabi, Sargun Mehta gave credit to the audience for her success in the Punjabi entertainment industry.

Here are the excerpts from the interview:-

Q. Singer Kamal Khan won the best singer award for the song ‘Awaaz’ in Qismat. What’s your reaction to this?

A. This is the best decision ever (Sargun replied with a cute smile). I think, my favourite song for the year (2018) is ‘Awaaz’. In fact, the whole ‘Qismat’ album is superb. Even if I was not in the film, I personally feel no one can beat ‘Qismat’ as an album. Jaani and B Praak have done an extra ordinary job with the album and I’m so happy that Kamal has won the award.

Q. Almost all your films are blockbuster now, what you want to say to the Punjabi audience?

A. I always say that Punjabi audience have always respected me and praised me for my work in films. I am so thankful to the audience. Today, whatever I have achieved is because of them.

Q. After ruling the Punjabi industry, any plans for Bollywood?

No, I’ve no plans yet. I do what I fell is the best for me. I do get offer from Bollywood, TV and Pollywood, but I always give preference to the script.

Earlier, Sargun Mehta bagged the Best Actress for the films ‘Angrej’, ‘Love Punjab’ and ‘Lahoriye'.

On the work front, Sargun will next feature in ‘Chandigarh Amritsar Chandigarh’.

The film also features Gippy Grewal. The movie is scheduled to release in May 2019.
