Known for their generosity and helping nature, Sikhs around the world have always been there for the destitute at the time of need. One of them is Amarjeet Singh Sudan, who is serving the poor and mentally ill tirelessly for over 47 years.

Amarjeet Singh Sudan is a 60 years old man, who takes poor, old, and mentally ill people to hospitals. Not only he has shifted people to the hospitals, but he has performed last rites to thousands of unknown people.

Amarjeet Singh is a resident of Indore, who says “I started serving people at the age of 14 when I spent my pocket money for the treatment of an old woman. My father appreciated my efforts which motivated me for serving more people without any expectations”.

PTC Punjabi has honoured him for his great gesture and his work for the destitute.

He adds, “Even cops in the police control room very often give contact information on Amarjeet to those who inform about an abandoned dead body of a poor person or someone underprivileged.”

The Deputy inspector General of Police has also appreciated his work and given a letter to him which allows him to take any poor to the hospitals or ashrams.
